Conficker Worm May Hits on April 1
ADVERTISEMENTSConficker worm which starts affect the most of the PC on April 1. Microsoft says that conficker worm is scheduled to do its vulnerability attack on April 1. If the worm is sitting in your PC worm can take over the control of your system.
Microsoft says : The vulnerability could allow an anonymous attacker to successfully take full control of a vulnerable system through a network-based attack. If you are updating your anti virus software regularly then your anti virus software will protect your pc from vulnerable attack. If you are not updating your PC regularly then the vulnerability may take control your system.
This vulnerability attacks Windows Server service used by Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008.
If your computer is infected with this worm, you may not experience any symptoms, or you may experience any of the following symptoms:
- Account lockout policies are being tripped.
- Automatic Updates, Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS),
- Windows Defender, and Error Reporting Services are disabled.
- Domain controllers respond slowly to client requests.
- The network is congested.
- Various security-related Web sites cannot be accessed.

NICE POST. BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW THAT IF WE CHANGE SYSTEM TIME AND DATE, THEN WILL IT HELP US OR NOT? THAT MEANS IF WE SKIP 1ST APRIL 2009 IN OUR SYSTEM THEN WILL IT BE ACTIVATED???

Good Question but anyway the clock of the system should pass over April 1 2009. That time worm can be activated.

Conficker.A and Conficker.B can both be removed using free software like F-Secure’s Downadup removal software as well as bdtools which was made just for this.
However Conficker.C has to be removed manually still. In just another day a fix will be made for it. You can view the Microsoft site for more information on how to remove this manually.
