If you are going to buy PC or Laptop you might have question about latest Intel core i2, i3, i5 and i7  processors. Intel recently this year introduced different Core i processors into the market. We are also eager to know about new Intel core i3, i5 and i7 processors, we like to share our views about the new processors here.

Core 2 Duo Vs Core i3 Processor

Core 2 Duo range could handle just one processing thread at a time where as core i3 processors can handle hyper threading which allows Core i3 to run two processing threads simultaneously on each core allowing it to perform four things at once, instead of the usual two threads.

Intel Core i Processors

Intel Core processors comes for different purposes.

1. Desktop Processors

2. Mobile Processors

1. Desktop Processor

Desktop Processor Cores Threads Turbo
Intel Core i7 6 12 Yes
Intel Core i5 2 or 4 4 Yes
Intel Core i3 2 or 4 4 No

2. Mobile Processor

Mobile Processor Cores Threads Turbo
Intel Core i7 2 or 4 4 or 8 Yes
Intel Core i5 2 or 4 4 Yes
Intel Core i3 2 or 4 4 No

Note : Intel Core i7 980x processor is the fastest  and latest processor in the Intel Core processor family. Which works in 6 cores and handles 12 threads, also supports HD graphics for games. This Intel Core i7 980x processor is known as the world’s fastest desktop processor.

  1. Nasir Says:

    the difference?
    i3
    -32nm
    -integrated graphics
-PCI-e 2.0 controller, couple of em come with 2X8 along with da 1X16 support
    -2channel integrated memory controller
    -hyper threading

    core 2 duo
-65,45nm (needs more power n generates more heat)
-of course no concept of integrated graphics
    -no PCI-E controller
    -no memory controller
    -no HT
