Launch IE8 in Private Mode by Default
ADVERTISEMENTSInternet Explorer 8 comes with private mode which doesn’t stores any cookies,files and history in Internet Explorer 8. By default Internet Explorer 8 opens in normal mode.
If you like to set private mode as default mode, while opening Internet Explorer 8. You can achieve it by creating a new shortcut in your desktop for Internet Explorer 8.
Steps
1. Right click on your desktop and select create new shortcut
2. You will be getting a dialogue box to select particular application.

3. Select Internet Explorer 8 path, mostly IE8 path will be in “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe”
4. Add -private keyword at the end of path with a space
eg: “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” -private
5. Click next and give a name to your new shortcut (eg: In Private IE8)
6. The shortcut created for IE8 will be opening in private mode by default.
(Note : This can be acheived in your start up menu by adding -private in the end of path)

1. Right-click on Desktop, Click New -> Shortcut
2. Type – “%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\iexplore” -private and click Next
3. Type in a name of your choice for the shortcut, eg. “Internet Explorer Private” and click Finish.
4.Using this shortcut will launch the browser InPrivate mode, allowing you to surf the web without worrying about your privacy.
